The ASK Friendship Society is currently offering Adult Day Programs for older adults managing chronic health challenges and/or who may have difficulty meeting their own social needs. These challenges prevent them from participating in other community programs.
We are excited to announce that we are expanding our programming into a bright and spacious 9,000 square foot facility, The Arbutus Centre, in the new Arbutus Development in early 2026. This will provide up to 50 spaces for older adults, for those who are mentally and physically healthy, as well as those with cognitive challenges, and their caregivers.
We have hosted 11 community cafes over the last five months, seeking input and feedback from community members as to the types of programs and services that would be of greatest benefit for older adults and their caregivers living within the Arbutus catchment area.
Join us at the Community Town Hall on May 28 when high-level results of ASK community engagement activities will be presented. Register today, space is limited.
Your voice matters. Stay connected with the ASK Friendship Society.. Together we will create a space where older adults are warmly welcomed to participate in daily, out-of-home programs where they are socially connected, mentally stimulated, and physically motivated while being in a safe and secure environment.
We Value Your Opinion – Please identify your role that best represents who you are and how you engage with older adults. Surveys will remain open until May 28.
The ASK Friendship Society is expanding to a new facility, the Arbutus Centre, located at Nanton and Arbutus Street, in early 2026. Your ideas, feedback and insights are invaluable to us as we start to make plans for the future.
In 2026, we are hosting a series of Community Cafés, each focused on engaging a specific community group.
We are seeking a broad and diverse perspective on future programs and services that ASK might provide for both older adults and caregivers in our new multipurpose 9,000 square foot facility.
Join us as we share insights and discoveries to identify both opportunities and gaps in programming to improve quality of life of older adults, while providing respite to caregivers and families residing in the Arbutus catchment area.
Together we are wiser. Together we enhance the quality of life of older adults. If you're interested in attending a specific Community Café, please reach out to us at
